DISAPPOINTED with North Business Community in Trinidad

So CHOGUM is around the corner and the planned strike on Monday and Tuesday was met with ignorance by many of the North business community. As usual, what I am about to say may aggravate alot of these people so if you are one of them, you have the chance to not read this article.

Firstly, why is the business community especially in North Trinidad not supporting these strikes? I bet you if they raised the price of diesel the business community would want to strike (or take advantage of the public buyers by increasing their product prices by 5-10 times). In fact, I would go as far to say that many in the business communities these days are criminals in a specific context. Nothing is wrong with acceptable profit but don't tell me you go and buy a cheap produce made in China and then mark it up by 1000%, that's just plain wrong - I think its an injustice to society!

I will even continue to say that when a business man gets kidnapped, you find that 20% will support trying to find the man back while the other 80% thinks selfishly and do nothing about it. The business community in this nation has a lot to play in governmental laws, policies etc.

It is such a shame or should I say, I am so ashamed when people don't support strikes that benefit the nation. Come on, if you strike for 1 day, your business wouldn't go bankrupt and I have to say the majority (not all, but most) of the business community these days are all about selfishness, nothing more. Look at the Trinidad Cricket team, a man in India had to sponsor them, far less for something of greater purpose to humanity - when the almighty 1 dollar bill could change your soul. THAT IS THE KIND OF GENEROSITY THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY HAVE IN TRINIDAD. Oh, and by the way, I not talking about thousands of dollars, a 10 dollars from each business could sponsor a cricket team or make a difference.

In Trinidad the saying should be "With great power, comes stupid, insensitive, selfish people that don't have a clue about their true existence."

Don't hate us, THINK beyond the ME.
